GERMANY – Grundschule Bobingen an der Singold
The small town of Bobingen is located in the South of Germany, near the city of Augsburg. Our primary school (near the small river Singold) has got 250 pupils (aged from 6 to 10 years). The twelve classes are located in two different places, of which one is in the suburb nearby. Since four years we have classes with a full day schedule, beside the commonly known half-day classes. About thirty percent of our pupils have a migrant-background, mainly from Turkey. Children with isolated learning problems as well as children with special needs are fully integrated in the sense of the inclusion idea.
The participation in the partnership will enable both children and staff to get a better idea of Europe and what it means to be a European citizen. A variety of creative activities will reinforce the experiences to be made. The pupils will have the chance to learn about different foreign cultures and their own culture, too. Moreover they train and learn a lot of essential skills to prepare for future employment in the labour market. They will improve their English skills by communicating with their European partners. For the teachers, the partnership will offer a considerable, professional development, providing an insight into different educational systems and teaching methods, from which the will benefit individually and as a team.
